Basic concepts and principles of development, developmental theories, developmental stages, the physical, cognitive and moral development, parent-child interactions, behavioral and adaptation problems seen in children will be covered in this class; however, the main goal of this course is to look at childhood periods starting from the  prenatal period to infancy, early childhood, middle and late childhood. The goal of this course is to offer basic information on child development and use this information in everyday settings. With this in mind, the baby’s life starting from conception to adolescence will be examined in this course. Various theories and perspectives will be offered on the child’s physical, emotional, scientific, and social development and factor influencing these developmental stages will be discussed.
