The historical development of psychotherapy theories, developmental stages and their characteristics will be compared and analyzed, both advantages and disadvantages
will be compared and evaluated. Understanding behavioral and mental processes will be described and evaluated as well as understanding the relationship between
theoretical and applied practices. Research done in the field of psychotherapy will analyzed and critically evaluated. In addition basic techniques used in psychotherapeutic
approaches will be demonstrated with students so that when they go for their internship, they will have a better understanding of which psychotherapeutic approaches
and practices are being used. Also, during the course, students will have the opportunity to develop the basic skills necessary for conducting psychotherapy.
