This course will instill professional ethical standards in psychology, cover the current regulations, professional values and ethically acceptable behaviors, ethically sensitive topics while offering a scientific approach to ethical problem solving. The goal of this course is to introduce the professional ethics used in the field of psychology and discuss potential legal issues that psychologists may face. The ethical code of conduct organized by the American Psychological Association and its Turkish adaptation, done by the Turkish Psychological Association, will be covered, discussed and analyzed with real-life case examples in class. In this class, international standards will be compared and ethical violations will be introduced. Regulating boards, professional laws and similar establishments will be covered.
